CEC & ASSEMBLY

The Chief's Executive Council (CEC) is made up of a Grand Chief elected by Tłįchǫ citizens, and a Chief from each of the four Tłįchǫ Community Governments. The Chief's Executive Council oversees the Implementation of Tłįchǫ Laws. 

The Tłįchǫ Assembly (Assembly) is made up of  13 members:

  • Grand Chief 
  • Chief of Behchokǫ̀, and two representatives from the Community Government Council

  • Chief of Whatì, and two representatives from the Community Government Council

  • Chief of Gamètì, and two representatives from the Community Government Council

  • Chief of Wekweètì,  and two representatives from the Community Government Council

The Assembly sits at least five times per year. The Tłįchǫ Assembly is the law making body for the Tłįchǫ Government and has the responsibility and authority to implement the Tłįchǫ Agreement, and to protect and ensure good government of the Tłįchǫ Government and its rights, titles and interests.
